What the Grizzly does
Wheel tracks filled. Seedbed restored.
The Grizzly Wheel Track Renovator is an Australian-built machine designed for one job: filling compacted wheel ruts up to 350 mm deep in a single pass. It captures and redistributes soil from the track shoulders, levels the surface and leaves a compact, even seedbed behind it.

How it works
Independent gauge wheels read the undisturbed soil surface beside the track and maintain consistent depth, so the machine self-levels as it moves across uneven ground. No manual adjustment between runs. The disc-and-roller system captures soil from the rut shoulders, moves it back into the compacted zone and firms it into place in a single pass, rather than pushing the problem sideways the way a blade or ripper would.
The result
A level, firm surface across the full paddock width, including the lines where harvesters, sprayers and applicators have run. Planting equipment runs consistently across the whole paddock. No rocking in the headers. No varying depth at the sowing boot. No uneven seedbed causing patchy establishment in the track lines.
Who it is for
After any heavy equipment has been through.
Wherever machinery with significant axle weight runs repeatedly down the same lines, the Grizzly is the right tool for recovery. The Darling Downs and Northern NSW have been running heavy harvesters, boomsprays and applicators for long enough that most growers have at least one paddock where the tracks are the problem.
The machines that leave tracks the Grizzly fixes
- Grain harvesters. The heaviest machines on most broadacre properties. Header tracks on wet or damp soils are the most common reason growers hire the Grizzly.
- Boomsprays. Modern high-clearance sprayers with full tanks are heavy. Repeated passes in the same tramlines eventually leave ruts that create seedbed problems and poor establishment on the lines.
- Fertiliser applicators. Pre-plant applications with full bins on soft country can leave tracks deep enough to cause problems at planting if not addressed.
- Chaser bins and chaser carts. Running alongside the header through the paddock, often on softer headlands and in wet seasonal conditions.
Controlled traffic farming systems
For CTF growers, the Grizzly is a maintenance tool as much as a recovery tool. When conditions during harvest or spraying have pushed tracks deeper than expected, the renovator brings them back to level without disturbing the permanent non-trafficked zones. The machine width is variable (1.8 to 4 m), so it can be set to match your CTF tramline spacing exactly.
Break stubble, knock surface weeds and open the seedbed across the full paddock width.
Fill and level wheel tracks. Complete seedbed prep from headland to headland before planting.
Clobber Your Clods!
Wheel tracks, compacted ruts, uneven seedbeds. The Grizzly fixes them in one pass. Hire it from Goondiwindi and put the paddock back together before planting.

Hire information
Available when you need it, not before.
Dry hire from Goondiwindi on daily, weekly or monthly terms. Machine delivered to your gate or collected from the yard. No fixed-season contract. You hire it when the tracks need doing and return it when the job is done.
What your hire includes
- Dry hire of the Grizzly Wheel Track Renovator for your agreed term
- Width set to your tramline spacing or paddock machinery spec before delivery
- Pickup from Goondiwindi or delivery to your farm gate
- Machine arrives field-ready, serviced, with greasable bearings checked
- Phone support from Jeremy if you hit a setup question on your first run
Pair it with the Kelly Chain
A lot of growers hire both machines for the same paddock prep window. Kelly first for stubble and weed knockdown, Grizzly second for track recovery. Both available from the same yard and can be delivered together in one run. See the Kelly Chain hire page for details on running them together.

Common questions
Before you book.
What depth can the Grizzly fill wheel tracks to?
Up to 350 mm in a single pass, which covers the vast majority of harvester, sprayer and applicator tracks in broadacre paddocks. If the tracks are deeper than 350 mm, a second pass after the first has settled usually resolves them. Call us with your track depth if you are not sure and we can advise before you book.
Does it work across different soil types?
Yes. The Grizzly is designed for Australian broadacre conditions, which means it handles the full range of Darling Downs and Northern NSW soils — black cracking clays, grey clays, red loams and lighter sandy soils. The independent gauge wheels maintain consistent depth across uneven ground, so it works on variable country without manual adjustment between paddocks.
What tractor size does the Grizzly need?
Operating draft is low relative to working width. Most broadacre tractors of 100 HP or above handle the Grizzly comfortably. Operating speed of 12 to 25 km/h means it covers ground quickly and does not burn tractor hours unnecessarily. Call us with your tractor spec if you want confirmation before booking.
Can I hire it by the day, or do I need a weekly booking?
Daily hire is available if you only have a specific set of tracks to address. Weekly and monthly terms are available for larger programs or if you are working multiple paddocks over a longer window. We work around your planting schedule, not a rigid hire calendar.
How does the Grizzly fit a CTF system without disturbing non-trafficked zones?
The machine width is variable from 1.8 to 4 m and can be set to match your tramline spacing exactly. It operates only on the trafficked zone, filling the rut and firming the surface without the discs or rollers running into your permanent non-trafficked beds. For CTF growers, this is the key advantage over a blade or ripper approach, which would cultivate the non-trafficked zones and undo the soil structure you have built up.
Can I book the Grizzly and the Kelly Chain at the same time?
Yes. Both machines are available from our Goondiwindi yard and can be delivered together in one transport run. Many growers run the Kelly first for stubble and weed work, then follow with the Grizzly on the same paddock to complete the prep. When you enquire, mention that you need both and we will sort the logistics together.
